Netflix has a lot in store for Korean drama fans for 2022. Certain dramas like Thirty-Nine and Twenty-Five Twenty-One have developed a new fan base, and some dramas already have an established community. A few K-dramas that Netflix has lined up for 2022 are adaptations of popular webtoons. The streaming platform has been successful with webtoon-inspired dramas like Navillera.

‘Black Knight’ takes place in a dystopian world in the near future

Fans were excited to hear the news Netflix would be streaming Black Knight starring Kim Woo-bin, Kang You-seok, and Esom. Black Knight takes place in 2071. Air pollution has destroyed the Earth, with only 1% of the population has survived.

The population relies heavily on delivery services to stay alive. Parcel carriers are known as “delivery knights” and help keep citizens safe. Knight 5-8 (Kim) is a legend and skilled in combat. He meets Sa-wol, a refugee who dreams of becoming a knight.

Netflix’s upcoming 2022 K-drama Black Knight was originally a webtoon titled Taekbaegisa or Delivery Knight. Lee Yoon-Kyun wrote and illustrated the webtoon between 2016 and 2019 on Toomics.

Black Knight will be available to stream on Netflix.

All of Us Are Dead has followed the success other K-dramas have seen on the streaming platform. The coming-of-age zombie drama follows a group of high school teenagers as a heinous virus takes over their school. Global fans gravitated toward its use of social issues, gore, horror, and heartfelt moments between friends.

The 2022 Netflix K-drama was originally a webtoon called Now at Our School. It was created by Joo Dong-geun on Naver. Like most adaptations, certain aspects of the storyline were changed to better suit an on-screen K-drama.

Fans of the webtoon would have noticed the virus’s backstory is different compared to what happened in the K-drama. Actor Im Jae-hyuk, who plays Yang Dae-su, gained weight to better look like his webtoon character.

Starring in Netflix’s 2022 K-drama based on a webtoon, The Sound of Magic, is Choi Sung-eun as Yoon Ah-yi. The musical K-drama centers on Ah-yi, who dreams of becoming a magician and wants to grow up too fast. She soon meets a mysterious magician named Lee Eul, played by Ji Chang-wook.

Lee Eul wants to sop time and go back to being a carefree child. Rounding the main cast is Hwang In-youp as Na Il-deung. He is a gifted student who keeps to himself. The Sound of Magic was first a Naver webtoon titled Annarasumanara by Ilkwon Ha.

The Sound of Magic will be available to stream on Netflix.

‘Tomorrow’ stars SF9’s Rowoon in an upcoming Netflix 2022 webtoon K-drama

K-pop Idol turned actor Rowoon will star in a new March K-drama, having success with The King’s Affection on Netflix. Tomorrow’s lead character is Choi Joon-woong (Rowoon). He is unable to find a job despite being almost perfect. He has good looks, wealthy background, and graduated from a prestigious school.

One night, he meets two grim reapers or angels of death by accident. They belong to a crisis management team to help suicidal people. Joon-woong becomes a new member of the team as half-human and half-spirit. Tomorrow is a Naver webtoon published under the original title Naeil by author Ra Ma in 2017.

Tomorrow will be available to stream on Netflix.

Netflix’s The Uncanny Counter actor Kim Se-jeong plays the leading female role of Shin Ha-ri in Business Proposal. Kim stars alongside Lovers of the Red Sky actor Ahn Hyo-seop. He plays the role of Kang Tae-mu.

Young-seo (Seol In-ah) is the Marketing Team Leader of Marine Beauty and the only daughter of the CEO. Young-seo begs her friend Ha-ri to take her place during a blind date with a chaebol heir. Ha-ri is a Researcher at GO Food’s Food Development Team 1. Ha-ri has every intention of making the date a catastrophe.

She never expected the blind date to be with her boss Tae-mu. He vows to marry the next women he meets to spite his family’s plan to marry him off. It just so happens to be Ha-ri posing as Young-seo. Netflix’s 2022 K-drama Business Proposal was originally a webtoon of the same name created by HaeHwa.
